Bait Stations For Rat Control

Bait Stations For Rat Control

What is a Rat Bait Station?

A bait station is not a rodent trap. It’s a mechanism that firmly retains a bait block inside to prevent children and dogs from getting into touch with it, protecting them from accidental poisoning. Rodents do not die at bait stations, so don’t expect to see any.
A mouse or rat enters the station, consumes a deadly dosage of bait, exits, and returns to its nest, where it dies 1-2 days later.
Bait stations keep bait fresh and allow rodents to access bait while preventing or minimising access by non-target species such as people, dogs, cattle, and native birds.

Because the bait station minimise ground leakage, bait stations with stakes inside are frequently the best solution for rats.

What is Rat Bait / Rodenticides?

Rat bait is simply a chemical poison that has been developed specifically to be very poisonous to rats and mice. It comes in a wide range of formulations.
Rodenticides, sometimes known as “rat poisons,” are chemical compounds used to eliminate rodents.

Household rodents such as rats/mice, squirrels, gophers, and others are typical targets for their usage. Controlling rodents is critical since they are disease carriers, damage crops/grains, and breed quickly.

Our Process of using Bait Stations

We keep toxins in locked bait stations that are positioned out of reach of non-target species, at least 5 metres away from walking paths on public land, and well marked.
We keep baits inside bait station in such a way that it holds tightly & thus secures bait to prevent animals from taking and storing the bait, to reduce ground leakage, and to protect non-target species.

Where to Place Bait Stations

We keep toxins in locked bait stations that are positioned out of reach of non-target species, at least 5 metres away from walking paths on public land, and well marked.

Indoor Bait Station:

Placing bait stations in areas where rats will discover them, such as between their nest and a food source.
  • Along wall paths or in corners where greasy stains, chew marks, or droppings have been spotted.
  • Can be kept behind or under any kitchen appliances.
  • In attics, basements, garages with dark corners and along walls & fences of outer perimeter of area.
  • Where you’ve heard or seen rodent activity.

Outdoors Bait Station:

Outdoor location for bait stations that can be used both indoors and outdoors, Disposable Station, should be place along the perimeter of the home. Placing baits near below popular outdoor entry points is a good idea.
  • Entry doors, garage doors, and below-the-window windows are all examples of entry points.
  • Vents and exhaust points.
  • In the area of sheds and other structures.
  • Close to garbage cans, compost bins, and woodpiles.
